What's the Best Knife for Cheese?

While cute-as-a-button cheese spreaders adorned with decorative handles make for Martha-like displays, the truth is that when serving cheese, common cutlery will do. The key to showcasing cheeses is not in the knife, but to be sure each cheese has its own. This prevents mixing the flavors and nuances of the different cheeses. Simply provide a sharper knife for hard cheeses like Parmigiano-Reggiano; a table knife with softer cheeses will be just fine. Bon Appétit!
