Jewel Collection

Tasting Notes

Petite Sirah has historically been used in wine blends to add structure, color, and a dash of fruit in the center of the wine. But lately Petite Sirahs have been standing on their own, taking advantage of the trend toward deeply colored, rich reds. Jewel Collection's Petite Sirah is an ultimate find, offering a great price mixed with wine-crowd favorites, such as plum, blackberry, and vanilla.

Winery Story

The Jewel Collection strives to combine good winemaking with unusual grapes. Producing wines from the Lodi appellation (a small growing area inland of the San Francisco Bay), the company chose a lesser-known region and lesser-known varieties like Viognier to build their brand. And so far it has been good thinking-Jewel wines have gained significant recognition in the wine press for both the Lodi region and grape varieties such as Petite Sirah.

The owners of Jewel Collection are a wine industry dream team. Most of the company officers came to the business from wine juggernauts like Sebastiani, yet in spite of its corporate pedigree, the Jewel Collection still feels small and in touch with today's wine consumer. Featuring the tag line "the perfect wine for your everyday good times," the team strives to make wine accessible and easy to understand and at a quality level to exceed their customer's expectation-they're a true wine-world "jewel."
