Tasting Notes
Better Homes and Gardens Wine Club Panelist Maureen Petrosky liked this bottle so much she thought it worthy of giving as a gift. Golden white, like Rapunzel’s hair, the wine brings buttery notes of fresh cream and bread dough combined with ripe golden apple in the nose. A slight hint of toast accents what could be described as banana cream pie for the finish. A great choice for fans of the big, bold California Chardonnay style. Drink now.
Winery Story
“Robust wit, expressed in elegant conversation as suitable to the pub as to high table.” That’s how Lord Byron described Laird Traius Henehan of County Clare, for whom Henehan Hills is named. Like their namesake, Henehan Hills wines reflect a marvelous wedding of zest and refinement, targeting both everyday drinking and special occasions.
The Henehan Hills portfolio of wines is sourced from the most distinctive vineyards in Sonoma Valley (located just west of its famous neighbor, Napa). Grapes chosen not only show true varietal character, but also the geographical influences of a single vineyard or sub-appellation. They result in truly one-of-a-kind wines—as one-of-a-kind as Laird Henehan himself.
