Tasting Notes
With a lovely garnet color, this medium-bodied red has an earthy foundation of clay and cedar framed with charcoal, red currant, and cranberry. The cranberry is more intense on the palate, combined with herbs, cedar, and smoke. Faint rose-petal tea floral notes linger on the finish. A silky, seamless, very drinkable Pinot. Drink now through 2009.
Winery Story
A true masterpiece reflects a combination of superb vision, marvelous craftsmanship, and the skilled cultivation of nature’s raw materials. Within the narrow scope of wines expressing such quality, the vintages of Domaine-M stand out as exceptional examples. Their substance is born from wines sourced solely from Napa Valley and handcrafted by the region’s finest artisan wine makers. This extraordinary appellation fosters vines that are in total harmony with their vineyards. And with careful proficiency, our master vintners subtly emphasize the unique characteristics each microclimate to bring out the truest expression of Napa Valley.
Napa Valley is one of the premier growing regions in California. Formed by the violence of geographical evolution, the Valley contains over 140 different soil types. Those soils combined with other vineyard location factors form a distinct “terroir” (ter-wahr). Terrior is the French word meaning of the earth, and it encompasses vineyard soils, regional weather, and geographic location. Each vineyard or sub-appellation expresses this terroir in unique and varied ways, and is reflected within the grape.
Domaine-M wines capture the soul of Napa Valley vineyards through embodying extraordinary flavors. From dusky Cabernets to fruity Pinot Noirs, our wines uniquely combine bold presentation with understated delicacy. All Domaine-M wines are wonderfully long in value. And whichever one you choose to experience, you are certain to enjoy a true masterpiece.
