Isn't this a lovely setting for an impromptu garden party.  It's fresh and alfresco at the same time.

To make a really quick appetizer just rinse a medium cabbage head after tearing off some of the outer leaves.  Pat dry with a cotton towel and stick toothpicks into bites of cheese that you can buy at your grocery already cut.  Also add some of your favorite pitless olives, cherry tomatoes, and any small vegetables you have on hand.   To stir up a quick dip for the appetizers just add 1 cup sour cream to a small mixing bowl, 2 tablespoons of Balsamic Vinegrette, 1 small crushed clove of garlic, and dash of lemon or lime juice.  Stir it up and place in a festive bowl surrounded by the cabbage leaves that you pulled off the head at the start.  Serve with Tortilla Chips w/lime, small bean & cheese burritos or quesadilla's and salsa with cilantro from the garden and you're sure to be a hit.
