What Did You Cook Today....Again and Again
Well, here we are at the New and Improved Mixing Bowl. I'm hoping we can still keep our neighborhood together, so I'd like to know what you cooked today. I hope you can find this thread so we can get things started.
I'm looking forward to less humid weather so I can getback to cooking the way I like to cook!!! I'm getting a "shout" out to my neighbors in MixingBowl. Can you hear me yelling on my back porch? Where are you and what's going on in your kitchen?
Toni

Blonde****cat, you need to eat something with vitamin C with your iron to absorb it. Throw some spinach in that lasagna or pizza- like tomato sauce and spinach....
or OJ with any food containing iron. works for me

Tonite I am cooking calf liver and onions, mashed potatoes and a nice BIG salad. I've been feeling "draggy" lately, so I went in for a CBC and I'm iron deficient. So I'll eat my spinach, greens, liver, etc till I start feeling better. I think I was working too many hrs and not eating enough iron-rich foods. We'll see if this is all it is. Now Gary, I know this must sound nauseating to you, but I grew up eating it, so I like it. I admit I don't eat it as much as I did growing up, but maybe 1 or 2 times a year now. Blondie xoxoxo

OK, y'all don't go running away from us. Please Toni and catfish~do ck back with us from time-to-time. I'm not giving up yet, but it sure is user-unfriendly here. I still haven't posted a recipe yet because it takes time to do it. The 1st time I did it, it never showed up in my "Recipe Box". I've ventured out some on different discussions and journals on this site, but I'm not too impressed with the community here in general. On The MixingBowl page it is still friendly, but I'm not sure it is worth the time to tell myself "Doh!" every few clicks. Has anyone heard anymore about Arlene?

Helene, Melanie and Toni, Thank you all for the anniversary wishes.
Toni, I hope you did not have any damage from the earthquake yesterday.
I think we are just going to have cold cuts with sliced tomatoes (from the mater patch) and lettuce, we will also have some cottage cheese and cantaloupe. I'm still hooked on the cantaloupe.
Toni, your tomato sandwich and kool-aid from childhood reminds me of the lunches we used to have in the summer. Usually, bologna with mayo or mustard, cheese and tomato with mayo or PB and J and always kool-aid. My mom used to mix flavors, like grape and lemon kool-aid, or pink lemonade and cherry. I loved the kool-aid with bologna and if we had potato chips, I had to put them on my sandwich as well. Life was so easy being a kid.
