It's Only Natural

Yesterday turned out to be the best day I've had at work in a very long time.  Wonderful!

Today was busy for me.  I cut down the Crepe Myrtle tree that was too close to the foundation and the ornamental holly bushes that were overgrown.  It opened up our whole entryway.

I left only one shrub and I don't know what it is, but I like it and I'll give it a chance to stay.  We'll see.

That area was in front of our living room and I am not sure what to put back in there, but it will not be a tree or shrubs.  I want something soft with color and texture.  I'm leaning towards 'Provence' lavender and a climbing rose called 'New Dawn'.  The rose can be trained on a trellis to frame the entry and it's pretty pink color and magnificent scent will delight visitors to our door.

I watered everything today just in case we don't get rain and my lettuce looks as if we may be eating it very soon.  The Cilantro is really beautiful too.

DH brought me used grinds from Starbucks this weekend and I've started scattering them on my garden towards the back of my yarden.  It definitely smells like coffee in the backyard.  Heehee.

Do you recycle your grinds?

I haven't used coffee grinds in the garden. How often do you do that?
