Rolls: Add caraway seed to batter, or sprinkle dill seed on top.


Waffles: Add a dash of allspice and cinnamon--great with syrup.


Corn bread: Mix rosemary in batter for delightful flavor.


Biscuits: Add mustard and thyme to dry ingredients.


Date muffins: Spice up batter with a dash of pumpkin pumpkin-pie spice.


Sweet bread: Add a pinch of saffron to hot liquid. Soak 10 minutes; strain. Add to flour mixture as usual.


Dumplings: Mix parsley flakes in the batter.


Scones: Season with allspice or poppy seed and serve with honey.


Blueberry muffins: Add a dash of nutmeg to the dry ingredients.


Coffeecake: Mix anise in the batter--just enough to taste.


Garlic bread: Spread slices with butter and garlic salt. Wrap; heat.


Croutons: Toss toasted bread cubes with melted butter seasoned with onion salt, basil, and marjoram. Serve with soup.


Doughnuts: Add mace to dry ingredients; after frying, roll in cinnamon sugar for a spicy treat.


Cinnamon toast: Dip in egg, milk; fry. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
