Chinese food doesn’t just have to be something you order in when things are hectic or you’ve spent a long day at the office. The recipes are surprisingly simple to prepare, and come out tasting like they came from the place down the block. This Kung Pao Chicken Stir-Fry makes a wonderful main course, and one of our favorite ways to enjoy this quick Asian recipe is by enjoying it in lettuce wrap form!

This flavorful meal can be adjusted to your personal spice preference. If you’re anything like us, you like to add a bunch of spicy Thai peppers to the recipe. Just make sure that you have some ice water or cold milk on hand to help you cool off!

Keep reading for the recipe… This just-like Chinese takeout recipe tastes fantastic, and you can also modify the meat in this recipe. Create a pork, beef, chicken, or even meatless version of this classic Chinese food! Seasonal vegetables also are wonderful in this recipe, and can add a different flare depending on the season it’s prepared in. Believe it or not, we love to toss in some lemon slices just prior to serving in January!
