As you prepare your Thanksgiving turkey, don’t throw away the bones!  It is incredibly easy to make beautiful homemade turkey stock following the big meal.  In fact, it can even be effortlessly prepared in the Crock-Pot!

I found that the carcass from a 10 pound turkey fit perfectly in my oblong shaped slow cooker.  The leftover bones along with an onion, carrot, some parsley, peppercorns, salt, bay leaves and some water are all you need to create a gorgeous broth.

I let it cook on low for about 10 hours and the broth was absolutely heavenly.  Plus, the entire house smelled divine!  I like to use homemade turkey broth for soups or to help revive leftover stuffing and vegetable dishes after Thanksgiving.
