Cranberry Cocktail

Need a go-to cocktail for the holiday season?  This one will take you from Thanksgiving all the way through the new year.  The key is a festive spiced cranberry reduction infused with cinnamon, ginger and star anise.

What I love most about this recipe is that the spiced cranberry syrup can be prepared in advance and chilled in the refrigerator until it’s party time.

When you are ready to serve, simply pour a bit of the cranberry syrup into a champagne flute.  Add a splash of brandy and then fill the flute the rest of the way with your favorite champagne or sparkling wine.  I like to garnish each glass with a twist of orange, a few cranberries and maybe a star anise for beautiful presentation.
