This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending the MixedCon food bloggers conference in Virginia.  In fact, I was one of the speakers!

If the location looks a bit familiar, the conference was held at the gorgeous Mountain Lake Lodge.  A hotel made famous in the film Dirty Dancing!

Dixie Crystals was one of the fantastic sponsors of the weekend and they hosted a fun and informative session where we learned how to prepare homemade sugar scrub recipes.

They provided all the ingredients, including a plethora of essential oils and even a variety of ribbons and stickers to decorate our sugar scrub jars.

My favorite was the Lemon Rosemary Sugar Scrub.  The aroma was refreshing and invigorating.  I couldn’t wait to get back home and take a long bath!

They say rosemary stimulates the immune system and increases circulation, while lemons boast strong antibacterial and immune-boosting powers.  Sugar is a gentle exfoliator and the grapeseed oil locks in moisture.
