I am excited to offer my second recipe a series of colorful and healthy smoothies to “sip the rainbow.”  Last week I presented a red drink called the “Garden Fresh Strawberry Smoothie.”

This week I wanted to create a fruit and vegetable blended drink representing the color orange.  I think you are going to enjoy this “Peaches and Cream Smoothie.”  You will never guess the secret ingredient!

Keep reading for the recipe…

The healthy secret behind this smoothie is a jar of pureed carrot baby food!  It is an easy way to add a vegetable into the drink without even tasting it.

Both carrots and peaches contain beta carotene, an antioxidant that converts to Vitamin A, which is essential for healthy hearts and eyes.  However, when you are sipping this smoothie all you will notice is the delicious flavor that tastes like dessert!

What are you waiting for?  Get on the healthy fruit and veggie smoothie bandwagon!

Peaches and Cream Smoothie

1 jar baby food carrots

1 cup sliced peaches

2/3 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup ice

Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.
