Robert Welch Giveaway

With the first slice of a Robert Welch knife, I was smitten.  I loved the feel, they cut like a dream, and their elegant, sleek look instantly captured my attention.

These knives combine award-winning British design, Japanese blade technology and German steel.  The company worked with professional chefs to develop the Signature knife line that features ergonomic comfort and optimum cutting action. Each knife has been individually constructed for its specific task in food preparation and the handles and blades are set at the best angle to minimize fatigue.  In fact, the knives have been performance-tested and were found to be in the world’s top 1% (of all knives tested) for initial sharpness and edge retention.

This week, I wanted to share my new favorite knives with all of you!  Not only will one lucky winner receive three essential Robert Welch knives, but you will also win these gorgeous salt and pepper mills.

    Gale Robbins says:

I became disabled back in 08. It took almost 3 yrs for my disability to come through, During that time I bounced from friends to friends couch and sometimes my truck.
After three years I finally started receiving my disability of $698 a month. Which is along ways from enough to afford an apartment. So the only way I could ever get a place to live was to get public housing, and the only way to get that was to go into a shelter. So I spent a year in a homeless shelter while waiting for my housing. I finally got my housing about 6 months ago. I cant tell you how great it is to have a place to call home and I’m so happy and grateful for everything i have. I’m not complaining but you asked us to write why we would like to win these knives.Even though I now have housing I still have to pay 1/3 of my income for my rent. That leaves me with just over $400 a month to live on, and that’s before my bills like cell phone and internet. The shelter and a church helped me with some used furniture. So slowly little by little I’ve been making my apartment a home. and let me tell you after shelter food there is nothing like home cooking. I’ve been able to buy two steak knives from the supermarket, but that’s it for my knives. And looking at the prices of good knives I don’t know if I will ever be able to afford a real cooks knife. So yes I would love to win these great knives.

As the economy gets back to speed we hope that raises will come back to both of our jobs. But for now we are fine just not able to purchase something of this quality.

My boyfriend and I have been cooking a lot for our family. We love eating as a family but the only problem is, is our knives. I tend to get cut a lot because our knives are so dull and cheap. It would be great to be able to prepare a meal for my family without getting cut.

He is a great guy and took my 3 children and I in. (I also have 2 adult daughters and 1 lives with us) This man does everything in the world for us so trying to win these knives for him, is the least I can do.

    Kate says:

I’m 25 and have been in food service for almost 10 years now. I just recently started cooking within the last 3 years and I fell in love with it. I am obsessed with the Food Network and all things culinary. I love to experiment with new flavors and ingredients. When I look for new apartments, my first priority is always the size of the kitchen. I have never owned any decent knives. I want them but I’m afraid that I’ll spend too much money on a less-than-reputable brand and they’ll break or dull within a week. Winning these knives would be one more step toward my dream of eventually owning my own catering business. Fingers crossed!

With my arthritic hands it is impossible to operate the knife sharpener we have and, even if I could, the knifes are cheap and probably wouldn’t sharpen any way.
