Picking one is hard. I have favorites for specific events. My three top favorites are likely Apple pie, French Silk pie, and Southern Comfort Sweet Potato Pecan pie. But I will side with Apple pie this time.

I make this every Thanksgiving. Special Tupelo Honey Pecan Pie. This is fabulous if you like a different taste from the traditional peacan pie. You can serve this with homemake whipped creme or vanilla ice creme.

It doesn’t get any better than Peach Cream pie! Lots of peaches, sugar, cinnamon and Eagle Brand milk create a wonderful creamy custard surrounding the peaches on top of a nice flakey crust. Yum! Having a personal pie maker would be a dream come true!

My favorite is Pumpkin Cream Cheese Pie- although I wouldn’t be able to make it in this, but I could definitely find many others- like my mom’s delicious apple pie- she makes the best!

Apple Pie
Imagine being a teen, picking the fruit all by yourself on your parents property, with the intent of producing a family sized cobbler from scratch. After pitting the apricots, adding spices & thickening you reach for the Folgers coffee can that says ‘sugar’ on the clear plastic lid. Dipping into the sparkling white grains with the one cup measure, several scoops later you feel satisfied with your creation and add the crust. Then, into the oven, & it smells fantastic. Dad walks into the door from work, smells the forthcoming dessert and gives you a hug. The finished product looks fantastic and you look on with pride as Dad takes a taste of the still warm cobbler and immediately spits it out. Someone had accidentally switched the lids on the identical Folgers can containing the salt! What a waste! Tough the experience was disappointing I still love apricot pie and cobbler, peach comes in second. Still see all the fruit and nut blossoms in my memories.

My all-time favorite pies were the lattice-topped cherry pies my mammy used to make from scratch with loads of sugar sprinkled on top…I sure do miss her pies! Unfortunately, her piemaking skills were never passed down to my mother or me or my sister. Now, I never eat cherry pie any more since nothing compares to those pies she made…all imposters are just a big letdown. I will settle for the occasional slice of strawberry pie, though.

My favorite pie is brown sugar pie. I found the recipe in a cookbook. It is just like pecan pie except no pecans and no corn syrup. It is basically brown sugar, butter, vanilla extract, eggs and poured into a crust and baked just like a traditional custard-type pie. It comes out of the oven and smells like warm toffee.
