    Cathleen Gilliland says:

In 2005, I gave up my home and gave away all my kitchen items of 30yrs to my 2 daughters, to move back home to care for my ailing Mother. I was not overly concerned since over the years my Mother’s kitchen was stocked with the same accessories as mine (although we were very different cooks).
In early 2008 she passed, and after an uncomfortable bout with my siblings, I put what little was mine in storage and tried to decide where I wanted to put my life back together again. After about a year and half in NC, I returned to the Tri-State area of WV, KY, OH. Finally have my own home again but need to rebuild my kitchen.
I mentioned earlier, that my Mother and I are very different cooks. I like cooking from scratch and she took to the simplicity of boxed, frozen and pre-cooked. And my Grandchildren love it when Nanny makes them whatever the see wherever!

I could really use a food processor in my kitchen because I love to make hummus and salsas and I blender just doesn’t cut it all the time. I have several food allergies so finding meals/snacks I can eat and my husband can enjoy has always been challenging, I’ve found several recipes that would work however a processor is usually needed. I’ve looked into buying one but i can’t afford one right now. Having a processor would allow my household to eat yummy healthy foods!

  • 86
    AnneMarie Battis says:

Cuisinart is the top brand of culinary tools; something I could never afford on my own but truly need. I have 2 disabilities that make some every day tasks a challenge, especially cooking (standing, holding utensils correctly for chopping, etc.) I have been an avid “scratch” cook most of my life and am known by others in the community as great in the kitchen. I have always used food to bless people in their time of crisis…sending over a meal when someone is sick, having a death in the family, etc. However, knowing that there are folks way off worse than us, my family and a few of our friends purchase, prepare and serve food for the homeless in our community every Tuesday night (and 2 Saturdays a month at a local park) for the past several years. If you know me, you know that I cannot (and will not) prepare food for others that I would not serve to my own family (it wouldn’t be a blessing then, would it?) Therefore, I work very hard to provide a nutritious “family style” scratch meal out of my tiny, galley-style kitchen every week for about 75 of our neighbors in need. And yes, I am the cook…even on days that my body doesn’t cooperate, I push through because I know that these folks are in real need and would perhaps not eat (and certainly not get the quality of food) if we weren’t there. With this food processor, I will be able to make many different dishes that I am currently unable to do because of my physical limitations; I can’t tell you what this would mean to me. Also, it will save us a lot of money. When I don’t have my son or husband home with me during the day to help chop items or help with mixing or kneeding dough, then I have to buy those types of items already prepared (which is more expensive) or make another dish that might not be as economical or nutritious. This great kitchen tool will be a money and time saver for me something that is very necessary on our limited tight, budget. I don’t want to sound like a martyr or anything, as we all do this because of the compassion we have for others, but share this with you because I cannot begin to tell you how much it would mean to me to have quality kitchen tools available to me to use to cook for my family and for our neighbors in need. It would save me so much time and energy (which is usually in short supply for me :) Your gift of this tool to me would reach far beyond just my immediate family of 3, but it would touch the lives of many. My husband, son and I would greatly appreciate it – as would the people we are able to reach with the “fruits of our labor”. Thank you so much for your consideration.

    Veronica says:

I love to bake n cook I’m learning by cook books I’m new at it so I don’t have much experiece but the little I’ve done for my family n friends and they have given me good compliments my inspiration is baking and id like to get better at it yet I don’t have all the tools. I’m a single mother with 3 kids I try my best to do what I can do for them and even though we struggle from time to time I try baking something they like to let them know everything will be alright. I can’t put my self through cooking classes I feel I can’t be whom I wanted to in life but my kids keep me going to stive n keep baking I may not have much but the very little I have is okay yet if I were a lucky enough to be choosen then I know I can proseed to do better baking for my loved ones a blender dosent realy work out to good. Well hope who ever gets this prize is very lucky and fortunate good luck everyone.

Well, we had our granddaughter over because she wanted her grandpa to teach her how to make pizza. As he was mixing the dough in our food processor, all of a sudden, it started to smoke and it just burned out! So ours is dead, and we really need a new one. I have been out of work for more than 3 years now, so we can’t afford to replace it.

  • 93

I need this food processor , I was recently diagnosed with rhuematoid arthritis and my joy is cooking for family and friends . I love feeding people and seeing them smile . I am not able to do as much with my hands cramping and drawing up as I would like to be . This would make cooking an easier and more delightful task for me . I wouldn’t have to depend on my spouse or children to help me slicing fruits and vegetables , and i could also make my breads and pastries as I used to really enjoy doing . I could prepare meals and not have to wait on my family to get home to help me . this would be a true blessing !

    tama fraley says:

I actually need a new one because the almost three year old Cuisinart I have has given. Unfortunate since it had less than a dozen uses. Cuisinart will not make a warranty replacement because it was a gift and they say the serial number is out of warranty. I have always heard such good things about Cuisinart though so I am hoping I just got a bad machine and a new one working model would be a blessing.

After my ex and I split he kept ALL of my kitchen appliance, utensils, cookware and bakeware (basically everything in the kitchen and much more). His reasoning was that I loved being in the kitchen so much that he would take that from me in order to try and hurt me. I have replaced some of the items, as you know though, it adds up. I have not been able to purchase a new food processor since I have had to budget everything out. I am a domesticated person who LOVES cooking and baking of any kind. I am ALWAYS in the kitchen it seems and the food processor is much needed and will be used regularly. Thank you for putting this contest together, that is generous and thoughtful of you. I look forward to hearing the results.

My Cuissinart is so old it belongs in the Smithsonian, and it’s so heavy I can barely lift it. Also, most of the time I’m only preparing meals for myself so the variable capacity sizes of this new one would be a great addition to my kitchen.

  • 385
    Mary E. says:

I would *love* to have a food processor like this! Or any, for that matter. I’ve never owned one, and now that I need one I can’t afford it. I had a series of strokes back in October, and while I’m blessed to be alive, they have left me quite disabled. I’m diabetic as well, so I eat a *lot* of veggies… and let’s just say, weekly prep that used to take 15 minutes has now become monthly prep that takes all day. All that chopping/slicing wears me out and some days I can’t hold a knife, so I pick a good day and do all my veggie prep for the month. It’s a huge chore without a helpful appliance, but being on a fixed income now doesn’t allow for the expense.

  • 386

  • 409
    ShirlBund says:

I don’t need a new one, but I would not mind one that I don’t have to worry that the top of the blade won’t come off and get mixed in with the food that is being processed. The top of the blade falls off and gets mixed into the food, and I am sure it dulls the blade when that happens, too. My current processor is often too small for what I make and have to make it in batches – hummus, blended soups, and such. I am satisfied with what I have, but would not mind something a little bigger. Thanks!

  • 410

    Lani says:

In a traditional Chinese American household, electric appliances are not necessary (according to the elders). Pragmatically, one could easily slice, mince, smash, and peel any vegetable with the cleaver. And even grind meat. The power source is “elbow grease”. This being said, I make meals for my family (parents) almost everyday. I love to cook, but prepping everything is where the most time and energy go into. If I were to win this food processor, it would help me out more than you can imagine. The time for food prep would be cut and I would have more time to go online and see what’s new on this site.. ;) .

Somewhere, deep in a dark basement cabinet frequented only by spiders, rests an off brand food processor that did not break down so much as exhaust me. I live alone and do have an OLD Cuisinart processor, but it has only one large bowl, I messed up the shredder blade somehow and never had a dough hook attachment. Because of the size of the bowl, I really can only use it productively when I make something “large” to share with others. The smaller bowls would be great for me. Also, the other attachments would be, maybe not a “God-send”, but also very much appreciated and used. Realize these comments will not really be used to choose, but do love my Cuisinart when I can use it and hope to get an upgrade in this sweepstakes… :)

I have spent the last couple years learning to, and enjoying, cooking. However, I can’t afford to by all the important gadgets like a good quality food processor. I recently bought my 1st home with a dream kitchen, and am now ready to entertain a dinner party here. This beautiful food processor would be a wonderful addition to my home and to my culinary excursions.

I would like a food processor because I have 3 girls that I home school and we love to spend lots of time in the kitchen. Our favorite thing to do together is cook. A food processor is one of the few kitchen gadgets that I do not have. I know that my girls and I would love to bring new recipes to life together using it. I also know that it would be a lot of fun to learn how to use a food processor together as a family. The best memories are made in the kitchen with family… that is why I desire to have this food processor.

I’ve never owned a food processor! I always felt like having a good one was (financially) out of my reach. I love to cook and try new recipes. There are so many good recipes that I could never make, since I didn’t have this essential kitchen tool. It’s especially hard to try to get my three year old to eat anything healthy, and having a food processor like this would mean she could be involved with prep more, and would most likely eat better!

  • 742
    Eva says:

I would love a food processor! I have never had one but now as my son is getting 1 in 2 weeks time, he will be more and more willing to play with me instead of watching me spending hours in the kitchen. Secondly, since I’ve had him, I’ve become more enthusiastic about cooking and with such a fantastic gadget like this one, I would be indeed excited to try new recipes. :)

  • 743

My mom and I always have the most fun together when we are in the kitchen cooking up something together. I am 15 and dont have many friends so I really like the time I get with her since she is disabled and she never teases me like my classmates. She cant afford most the appliances that we need to do most the recipes because of her income. We could really use this food processor to complete/help with our recipes :) Every recipe that we have made together she puts into an album so I can remember that I’ve made it before. Thank you for doing your contests and giving us the opportunity to win something we could really use.

I had my stomach removed in 1/2000 & I have to puree all of my food. I need a food processor that will do this for me for this reason. This processor would also allow me to not only puree my food but to be able to puree cooked foods when I make my cream soups that I have to eat. If I could win this food processor, my life would be so much easier. I have purchased other “machines” that say they puree but what a joke. So hopefully, I will be the lucky one.

I would love to have a Brand New food processor like this as I never had a food processor in my entire life! I love to cook, and it’s always my dream to have one of those, but due to financial problem I never get a chance to buy one.
