After washing and pricking, white or sweet potato, lay in microwave on paper towel and sprayed with cooking spray and covered with a plate cover. After about 1/2 the time I flip over and spray again and finish cooking. I spray with oil spray because I eat the skin on either potato. Works for me. lol

I watch my potato.. dry with paper then lay the damp paper towel in the microwave.. I take the potato and rub with olive oil put on the paper towel and sprinkle with Kosher Salt.. then microwave (sorry can’t tell the minutes my micro has a bake potato button).. As Lynn said it makes the skin moist so you can eat it too.. the salt makes it kind of like the baked potato you get at Red Lobster.. Do the same thing when I wrap in foil for the oven or outside grill.. if I have a large potato I put a very large nail (you now can buy them in the cooking utitles) through the potato to conduct more heat to the center of the potato. so the cook faster (get done in the center)

I cook 8 potatoes at once, by placing a doubled paper towel on turntable. Prick potatoe twice on all four sides. Place potatoe in each coner, then fill in between, leaving middle open. Cook on high on for 5 minutes. Flip potatoe over & place where potatoe is accross from it. Cook on high for 5 more minutes. Sometimes I may have to cook them another minute. I save the potatoes we don’t use for the meal. You can cut them up for country fries or just reheat them for another baked potatoe.

I can bake 4-6 potatoes at one time depending on the size of the micro. I wash my potatoes pierce them with a fork, put them on pieces of saran wrap already laid out then spray them with olive oil. about 20 min depending on how many..I check them with the hot pad til they squish some and voila they are done!
