Call it dressing, call it stuffing. Put it in the bird or bake it on the side. No matter what you call it or how you bake it, I just love it!
If I am going to be totally honest with you, for me, the true star of Thanksgiving dinner is the stuffing. Sure, turkey is great, but I simply CRAVE stuffing! I love that there are seemingly infinite ways to get creative with the dish. When assembling our list of the “Top 10 Thanksgiving Dressings” I looked for a wide variety of recipes. From cornbread to croissants and brioche to bagels, there is something for everyone! Here are a few highlights, but be sure to check out the complete list.

Gluten-Free Cornbread Dressing
Gluten-Free at Thanksgiving? It can be done with the help of Simple Sugar and Gluten-Free. This cornbread dressing is so moist and flavorful, your family won’t be able to tell the difference!

Brats aren’t just for the grill! This recipe from Johnsonville brings your favorite sausage into an outstanding holiday dish.

Homestyle Oyster Bagel Dressing
Monica Peters from “The Grits ‘n Cheese Dish” shares her recipe for a classic oyster dressing with a twist. She uses pumpernickel and everything bagels!

Food Network’s Claire Robinson proves that you don’t need a bunch of ingredients to create a great dish. This dressing is a “5 Ingredient Fix” for your Thanksgiving menu!
I recently had the pleasure of speaking with Claire and had a chance to ask her a few questions about her 5-ingredient philosophy and how you can make it work even on Thanksgiving!
Claire said that when you are working with so few ingredients, each component has to be outstanding. That’s how she came up with this stuffing recipe for her Thanksgiving special this year. She decided to use flavorful brioche instead of plain, white bread since it is so rich and buttery. She also added some pork breakfast sausage because it packs a flavor punch in one simple ingredient. Claire also pointed out that with her 5-ingredient recipes there is room for flexibility and ways to make the dish your own. For example, with this dressing you can swap out the pork breakfast sausage for a spicy Italian sausage or even a nice chicken apple sausage. Whatever fits your palate and will compliment your Thanksgiving menu!
Claire’s Thanksgiving Special is currently airing on Food Network. She can also be seen on Dear Food Network “Top 10 Thanksgiving Problems Solved.” Check online or your local listing for times. In addition, Claire is hosting a “Holiday Windows” episode of Food Network Challenge, premiering on Sunday, November 28th at 8 pm.
